Hey folks,
Well we are on the road back home. These rides are always bitter-sweet. We all love going and playing music but we also love going home to our families. We had a good time on our trip this weekend. We met a lot of great people.
I left off the last post telling you all about us heading to Hollonville, GA. I hadn't much more than put up the computer, when Emory slammed on the brakes. A car had pulled in front of us and with a good job of driving by Emory, we were able to avoid the accident. Shane was sitting up front in the jump seat when all this happened. He promptly changed seats to the back of the bus. Speaking of the bus, it has done us well this weekend. We made all the gigs with time to spare and no problems. As I'm writing, Emory has just had to slam on the brakes again. Apparently traffic is pretty bad in Chattanooga. Shane was riding up front with Emory again....there he goes to the back of the bus.
We had a great time in White, GA this morning at Millers Chapel. It was a really beautiful church. It was out in the middle of nowhere but it was pretty. Brother Josh James and the fine folks really treated us nice. Afterwards, there was a dinner on the ground. They did put the food on the tables though. We appreciated that.
Our next show is in Anderson, AL on June 8th where we are having our cd release party. We would like to invite everyone who can make it to come out and enjoy some good food and good music. I will update again in a day or two.

An update from the road...
Hey folks,
We are on the road again somewhere between Chattanooga and Atlanta. When I left off last we had left Belvidere and were headed for Virginia. We only stopped at three truck stops but we did end the night at Walmart in Bristol.
The first story comes at Shane's expense. We had been on the road for a couple of hours when he decided to turn in for the night. He climbed in his bunk and Lorne and I were standing there talking to him. He asked if we smelled something burning. We didn't, but we started investigating where it was coming from. We were just about to give up the search when we heard some commotion in Shane's bunk. The burning smell was his pillow laying against the light in his bunk. It had burned a hole in his high quality poly-blend pillow case! He showed it to us while it was still smoldering. It was pretty cool.
Friday we toured the Bristol Motor Speedway and then went on up to Coeburn. The people in Coeburn were really excited to see us and we had a really good time there. We played for most of two and a half hours! The people really enjoyed themselves and they danced the night away. We left there and drove back down to Chattanooga and got there at about five this morning. We played the Chattanooga Market and it was really neat to walk around and visit with the people there. Our sound man today was Ken and he really had us sounding good. Those of you that have ever played in a band know how important it is to hear yourself and Ken really had us set up right. Thanks Ken! Tonight we will be playing at the Hollonville Opry in the fork in the road that is Hollonville, GA. We're looking forward to meeting the folks there.
I will try to update tonight on our way to White, GA (where we play in the morning). I'm not sure how long I will be up as I have pulled night driving duties the past two nights and it's starting to catch up with me.

On the road again!
Hey folks!
Well, we just got the bus loaded and are pulling out of Belvedere, TN. Next stop, Coburn, VA. Well, Coburn won't exactly be the next stop. We'll most likely stop at 10 or 12 truck stops and at least one Walmart before we get to Coburn. This week has started out on the right foot in Guntersville, AL where we kicked of the Lakeside Concert Series for the fine folks there in Guntersville. We met lots of nice people there and had a great time. This weekend, we start in Coburn at Lay's Hardware and then on Saturday (5-29) we'll be in Chattanooga, TN at 2 PM at the Chattanooga Market and then Hollenville, GA at 8 PM that night. Sunday (5-30) we'll be in White, GA. So quiet a busy weekend coming up. I will updating regularly this weekend so check back often, as I'm sure there will be many interesting stories from the road.

Welcome to the Bluegrass Soul Pickers Blog
Hello Friends. Welcome to the Bluegrass Soul Picker's 'official' Blog ... The Guestbook service that we were using decided to go out of business, so we have removed the guestbook from the website and have decided to put up a blog page that we can post news, 'on the road' experiences, and announcements ... and you can post your comments as well.
Our latest (exciting) news is the up and coming release date of our new Blue Circles Records CD titled "If I Ever Get Home". The new project should hit the streets on May 25, 2010 and we think you will enjoy the CD as much as we enjoyed making it. The project has been a lot of work and hair-pullin' to get to the presses, but all is complete and we are just waiting UPS to come truckin' up the road to bring us the goods.
We will be on the road to the mountains of Virginia, down to Atlanta, Tennessee, and out to Arkansas the next couple of months, so check out our calendar and come out and see us.
Feel free to post your commets here on the 'blog' ... we'd love to hear from you!
God Bless,
The Bluegrass Soul Pickers
